Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
The Frostgarde Composer's Guild ("we," "us," "our") operates this website. This policy explains what information we collect from visitors, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. We're an independent composer collective, not a corporation — this policy is written in plain language for that reason.
What we collect
Email signups. If you subscribe to our mailing list, we collect the email address you provide. This is handled by Mailchimp, our email service provider, who stores and processes that address on our behalf.
Basic site analytics. We may use analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use this site — pages viewed, general location (country/region level), device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. This is aggregate, non-identifying usage data used to understand our audience, not to track individuals.
We do not collect payment information on this site. Purchases (digital or physical) happen through third-party platforms — Ampwall and streaming services — who have their own privacy policies governing that information.
Why we collect it
- To send you updates about new releases, if you've subscribed
- To understand how people find and use this site, so we can improve it
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Third-party services we use
- Mailchimp (email delivery) — their privacy policy
- Netlify (website hosting) — their privacy policy
- Google Analytics (site analytics, if enabled) — their privacy policy
Links to Ampwall, Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and other platforms take you off this site to services with their own independent privacy practices — this policy doesn't cover them.
Cookies
Analytics tools may use cookies or similar technology to distinguish returning visitors from new ones. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time; doing so won't affect your ability to browse or use the mailing list signup.
How long we keep data
Email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe (every email includes an unsubscribe link) or until you ask us to remove you directly. Analytics data is retained per our analytics provider's standard retention settings.
Your rights
Because our directors and audience span both the United States and the United Kingdom, we aim to honor the rights recognized under both UK GDPR and applicable US state privacy laws, including the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you
- Access a copy of it
- Correct inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your information
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent (e.g. unsubscribe) at any time
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at frostgardecomposersguild@gmail.com. UK/EU visitors also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) or their local data protection authority.
Children's privacy
This site isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 (or under 16 in the UK/EU). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy occasionally as the project grows. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
